Google UNCF Scholarship

The Google-UNCF Scholarship is awarded annually to a group of African-American students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science, computer engineering, or a degree in a closely related
field (such as Software Engineering). The program offers "last dollar" scholarships based upon unmet financial need for students majoring in computer science or computer engineering.

Access to knowledge is our thing. When it comes to higher education for promising scholars, we
don’t want anything to stand in the way. That’s why we’re proud to support the work of the United
Negro College Fund. Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of
their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students.
Recipients of the Google UNCF Scholarship will each receive a $10,000 scholarship for the
2009–2010 academic year. Selected students will also be invited to attend the all-expenses-paid
Annual Google Scholars’ Retreat at the Googleplex in Mountain View, CA, in the Spring of 2010.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and
demonstrated passion for computer science.
