Bio | Emanuel "Manny" Contomanolis, PhD

Associate Vice President and Director
Rochester Institute of Technology

Manny has been Director of the Office of Cooperative Education and Career Services since 1992 assuming additional duties as Associate Vice President for the Division of Enrollment Management and Career Services in 2005. With nearly 30 years of career services experience, Manny has been fully engaged in the profession as a consultant, speaker, benchmark group member, and professional organization board/committee member.

He has been quoted widely in the media and is the author of more than a dozen articles including two refereed journal articles and a to be published book chapter on engineering co-op assessment. Manny is currently serving the NACE board, recently served as President, and is entering his sixth year as a faculty member for the NACE Management Leadership Institute (MLI). He has also served as President of EACE and on the boards of three different cooperative education professional associations.

Manny has consulted with more than 25 organizations and has been an active workshop and key note presenter including trips abroad to China, Japan, the Netherlands and Germany – most recently as a U.S.- Germany Fulbright recipient – to speak about career issues and trends.

Manny has his BA in history from SUNY Cortland, his MA in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University, his PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy from University of Buffalo, and a graduate certificate in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
