Tim Luzader has served as director of the Purdue University Center for Career Opportunities since 2000.  After gaining experience in sales and sales management with subsidiaries of the Times Mirror Corporation, Tim began his tenure in university career services in 1981 at his alma mater, West Virginia University.  His career services work included counseling and administrative positions at the University of Illinois (1985-88) and Indiana University (1988-96). Immediately prior to his Purdue appointment, Tim served as the career center director at Stony Brook University on Long Island (1996-2000).  

Tim has authored chapters in four textbooks treating career planning and job search-related topics with a particular focus on liberal arts and sciences students. He has also served in a variety of leadership positions in several professional and civic organizations. Specific to career services, Tim is Past-President of both the National Association of Colleges and Employers (2004-05) and Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers (1995-96).  

In 2005, Tim received a Fulbright grant and traveled in Germany and Poland to study higher education and society and consult on career services delivery.  He has also provided career services consultation to officials from universities in Afghanistan, Canada, China, Egypt, India and the United States as well as to corporate colleagues with ConAgra Foods, Danaher, Enterprise, General Electric, Lincoln Labs and Nestle among others.  Tim is frequently quoted in the national and regional media and was featured in the New York Times and Newsday

Inducted into the NACE Academy of Fellows in 2010, Tim is also the recipient or co-recipient of several awards in the career services field including the NACE/Chevron Outstanding Achievement Award for Innovation, several NACE Awards of Excellence and the MwACE J.W. Pacquette Award for Superior Leadership.  On the Purdue West Lafayette campus, Tim was awarded the Hovde Faculty Fellow Award for Outstanding Service to Purdue University Residences and its Residential Life Program. In his spare time, Tim is an active Rotarian and is President-Elect of the Lafayette Rotary Club.
