6 Student Portfolio Site -- preview RIT's talent
Event
Tentative 2014 dates: March 6th or 13th -- check back soon for confirmed date. The format of the event has 2 major components: Career Speakers and Portfolio Reviews (by individuals or creative industry company representatives). It is an opportunity for students to get valuable feedback on their portfolios, learn more about the skills necessary for success in your industry, and what career paths/opportunities are available.
This event, begun in 2006, has been created primarily for College of Imaging Arts and Sciences students and alumni to connect with and get feedback and advice from professionals in the creative field. (Formerly named Creativity: Careers in Motion).
This is not just a job fair—you do not need to have job openings to participate (although many organizations do use this event to source out talent!). We are creating an atmosphere and event that fosters communication between professionals and students. Open to RIT students and alumni only!
Please contact Gretchen Burruto at geboce@rit.edu, subject line: "Creative Industry Day Invite" if you would like to receive an invitation to participate this year.
Schedule
Career Panels 12-2 pm
Portfolio Reviews
Individuals 2-4 pm
Getting that job is inevitably going to come down to a person's work. Give advice to students/alumni on how to showcase their work most effectively to a prospective employer or client.
Company Representatives 2-6 pm
The objective is to provide an informal forum for networking and information exchange between students and industry professionals. It gives students the opportunity to get valuable feedback on their portfolios, learn more about the skills necessary for success in your industry, and what career paths/opportunities are available. This type of interchange will be a beneficial experience for the students, the industry and the instructors.
Students from the School of Design, School of Art, School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, School for American Crafts, School of Film and Animation, School of Print Media are invited to participate.
Please limit your time with each student/alum to 10 minutes.
