Event

March 19, 2015

Visit last year's 2014 Student Portfolio Portal for an idea of RIT's talenthttp://creativity.cias.rit.edu/

Showcase your company & review portfolios or choose to review as an individual

Creative Industry Day, begun in 2006,  provides a forum for networking and information exchange between our students and creative industry professionals, artists, photographers and designers.  Students will get feedback on their portfolios and learn more about the creative industry and you will get a real inside look at the talent RIT is producing. Sponsored by Career Services and the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Each reviewer will meet with students, one-on-one for about 10 minutes. You will only be expected to represent your area of expertise.

Here is a quick list of the type of student you may meet with:Industry Day Oasis

3D Design, Advertising and Public Relations, Animation, Art and Illustration, Crafts, Film, Game Design and Development, Graphic Design/Visual Media, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Motion Picture Science, Media Sciences/Print Media, New Media Design, New Media Interactive Development, Photography/Visual Media, Game Design, and more.

Some of you are also interested in scouting talent. There will be seniors, juniors and sophomores present at the event and if you are looking for co-ops (interns) or full time hires feel free to pursue them—even though this is not a job fair.  New this year is a reception where you can mingle with other participants and invite students that you wish to speak with further. Interview facilities are available the next day, please contact us soon if you are interested in reserving one. It is an opportunity for students to get valuable feedback on their portfolios, learn more about the skills necessary for success in your industry, and what career paths/opportunities are available.

This is not just a job fair—you do not need to have job openings to participate (although many organizations do use this event to source out talent!).  We are creating an atmosphere and event that fosters communication between professionals and students. Open to RIT students and alumni only!

Please contact Gretchen Burruto at geboce@rit.edu, subject line: "Creative Industry Day Invite" if you would like to receive an invitation to participate this year.
