RIT offers a number of orientation programs for their newly-accepted students.
ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT ORIENTATION
In addition to the Graduate Student Fair and Reception, you are required to attend your Academic Department Orientation.
Notifications of important dates and registration information will be sent via RIT email and posted on various social media networks. Be sure to connect with RIT using your preferred social media networks.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION
All international students must attend the International Student Orientation Program. This program provides information on programs and services offered by the International Student Services and other RIT Offices. Information sessions cover topics such as employment in the U.S., immigration information, health care and health insurance, U.S. tax obligations, safety concerns, and U.S. Social Security Numbers. At International Student Orientation, you will meet the PALs (Peer Advisor Leaders). PALs are current RIT International and American student volunteers who will help answer your questions and assist you in getting settled at RIT.
