Register for a Course

You can take courses at RIT without being enrolled in a degree or certificate program. This option is appropriate if you want to try a course or two in anticipation of applying for a degree, or if you are taking just a few courses for professional or personal development. These students are known as non-matriculated students. If you later decide that you want to complete an application to a part-time, on-campus or online degree or certificate program, you should contact the Office of Part-time and Graduate Enrollment Services for more information.

It is now easier than ever to take on-campus and online courses. Just follow these simple steps:

Course registration for Winter 2009 quarter is open. The registration form FOR NON-MATRICULATED STUDENTS will be available until drop/add week. Click here for a list of Winter quarter classes that do not have pre-requisites and can be taken by students not enrolled in an RIT degree program.

Returning RIT Students (if you have a current RIT Computer (DCE) account)

Use the Student Information System(SIS) - Go to http://infocenter.rit.edu.
In-person at the Office of the Registrar or through your academic department.

Note: Students who are matriculated in a degree or certificate program, or who are making application to one, should check with their Academic Program Advisor before registering to make sure that the course(s) they plan to register for fulfill the degree or certificate requirements of their program. In addition, certain courses may have pre-requisites or restrictions placed on them.
