Experience Matters.

RIT’s focus on experiential learning offers students a unique learning environment with access to over 50 high tech labs, expert faculty, and the opportunity to intern or co-op while studying. This hands-on approach to graduate education gives RIT graduates the skills and knowledge they need to succeed after graduation. Our outcomes speak for themselves. Over 97% of RIT MS and PhD graduates find jobs in their field or go on to further study within 6 months of graduation for companies like Apple, NASA, Toyota, Lockheed Martin, Amazon, and many more.

RIT’s graduate programs in engineering emphasize applied education and research and our College of Engineering is ranked 81st in engineering schools by US News and World Report.

RIT graduates apply their program curriculum, research, and internship experience every day in the full-time jobs and continued studies.

“Most of the organizations I was part of were directly research-related. I was part of the Data Science Research Group, which was an excellent seminar by Dr. Fokoue that introduced me to new ideas in statistics and machine learning. I was also part of the Computational Linguistics and Speech Processing group (CLASP) because I was interested in dipping my toe in natural language processing outside of my main thesis work. Being part of those organizations meant being exposed to a firehose of new ideas, which was exciting.”

“I had the opportunity for a spring co-op at Tesla which is at the forefront of innovation in the auto sector. It was a dream come true for me. The experience at Tesla was truly remarkable. I had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the world working on cutting edge automotive technology. That experience has helped me immensely in shaping my present career. In my current position I have the opportunity to use skills like lean manufacturing, DoE, Six Sigma, and more, that I learned during the course of my Masters at RIT and during my co-op at Tesla.”
