Non-Toxic Intaglio Printmaking (GCNIP)

Program Overview

This graduate certificate is a training program for artists/ printmakers and printmaking teachers with undergraduate or graduate qualifications in art who want to gain a comprehensive working knowledge of non-toxic intaglio printmaking techniques.

Students will be introduced to the basic non-toxic intaglio processes through a hands-on workshop/seminar. After completing the workshop/seminar, students will be expected to work independently to develop a good working knowledge of the techniques demonstrated. Students will have access to the print-making facilities and will be expected to work in harmony with normal printmaking classes. Students must demonstrate their accountability for time and their expertise through their portfolio and studio notebook submissions.

Admission Requirements

Candidates must submit a letter of intent, resume, slide portfolio (between 10 - 20 slides) and the names and contact details of three references, and satisfy one of the following entry requirements:

1. Graduated with a BFA or master in fine arts.
2. Be recognized as a master printer or professional printmaker.


Prerequisites

Students applying for admission to the program will need to hold a bachelor or master of fine arts degree or be recognized as a master printer or professional printmaker.
