Program Eligibility Amount How to Apply
Institute Graduate Scholarship Must be matriculated into an RIT graduate degree program. Vary and are determined by the academic departments. Complete the Application for Admission.
Graduate Assistantships Vary according to need and program of study. Vary. Contact your academic department.
Center for Multidisciplinary Studies Continuing Education Scholarship Enrolled in a Center for Multidisciplinary Studies (CMS) graduate program. Maintain a 3.0 academic average. Vary and are determined by the Center for Multidisciplinary Scholarship Committee. Complete the CMS Continuing Education Scholarship form and the Graduate Application for Admission.
AALANA Graduate Scholarship Awarded to African American, Latino American, and Native American full-time matriculated graduate students demonstrating financial need and academic achievement. Up to $1500 per academic year. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
New York State Tuition Assistance Program Be a legal resident of New York State and enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per quarter). Vary according to income as determined by New York State. Maximum annual award is $550. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Vietnam Veterans Tuition Assistance/Persian Gulf Veterans Tuition Awards (New York State) Matriculated into an RIT graduate program and registered for 3-12 credit hours per quarter. Must be a New York State resident who served in Indochina between January 1, 1963 & May 7, 1975 or in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm beginning August 2, 1990. $2,500 per year ($833/quarter), $10,000 maximum. These awards are in addition to the Tuition Assistance Program & GI Bill benefits. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete a VVTA application or the Persian Gulf Veterans Tuition Award Supplement available in the Office of Veteran Enrollment Services.

Federal Work Study Program Must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours per quarter). Vary according to the availability of funds and demonstrated financial need. Wages begin at $6.00/hour and may be higher depending on the skills and nature of the job. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Federal Direct Student Loan Program Enrolled at least half-time (minimum of 6 credit hours per academic quarter). Demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education in order to receive an interest subsidy during eligible enrollment and grace periods. If financial need does not exist, students continue to be eligible to borrow an Unsubsidized Loan, in which case interest will be charged from the time the loan is disbursed until it is paid in full. Vary according to individual costs of education. Total annual maximum Federal Direct Student Loans cannot exceed $18,500 or cost of education, whichever is less. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). RIT will then determine your eligibility.
