Register for a Course

You can take courses at RIT without being enrolled in a degree or certificate program. This option is appropriate if you want to try a course or two in anticipation of applying for a degree, or if you are taking just a few courses for professional or personal development. These students are known as non-matriculated students. If you later decide that you want to complete an application to a part-time, on-campus or online degree or certificate program, you should contact the Office of Part-time and Graduate Enrollment Services for more information.

This registration service is intended for students who are not matriculated (presently in a certificate or degree program) at RIT. If you have taken courses at RIT in the last four quarters, you should use our Student Information Service where you can register online using your student ID and DCE account.

To begin the registration process, new and returning students should:

  1. Review and select course(s) Check https://registration.rit.edu for the most up-to-date listing of the upcoming quarter courses and their open/closed status.

Course registration for Spring 06/07 quarter begins January 30. This registration form will be available beginning February 3.

See How to Read the Schedule of Courses for information on how to determine undergraduate from graduate-level courses.
