Are there any technical requirements?

Will I need special software to participate in the online courses?

Online courses use a web-based system called myCourses, which does not require any installation. Certain courses will require additional software based on what is taught and the professor's requirements.

How do I get an RIT Computer Account if I am a brand new student?

You will receive an account activation email from RIT when one of the following conditions is met:

You are an incoming full-time RIT student who has paid your tuition deposit; or
You are a part-time undergraduate or graduate student not matriculated in a program at RIT AND have been registered for a course; or
You are an online learning student that has been registered for a course
