RIT Online offers a comprehensive array of resources and support services to simplify and help you make the most of your online learning experience. These include:
Course Management Software
Easy-to-use course management software provides a secure environment for your instructor to structure and manage your online course and provides a forum for students to interact with one another.
Orientation Services for new RIT Online Students
All new Online Learning students receive an orientation mailing that includes helpful orientation information and instructions for getting started. In addition, one week before classes begin and during the first week of class, Online Learning schedules Orientation Phone Conferences.
Customer and Technical Support Services
Customer and technical support services are available seven days a week by toll-free telephone and email.
Academic Advising
Academic advisors are available to help prospective and current students decide which online course and/or program best suits their needs and career goals. Advisers can evaluate transfer credits, help students select the right courses to complete a program of study, and provide information about academic policies.
Library Services
Online Learning students have the same access as campus-based students to the extensive resources of RIT’s Wallace Memorial Library. Wallace Library’s Information Delivery Services (IDS) includes overnight delivery of the library’s own books or articles to your home as well as electronic delivery of course materials over the web. You may place requests, check status of requests, renew materials and communicate with IDS through your web browser.
Exam Proctoring Services
A proctored exam requires that you make arrangements to testing service or professional individual in your area administer the exam. If you are in the Rochester area, the Online Learning office can serve as your proctor. If you are out of the Rochester area, Online Learning will assist you in identifying a proctor in your area.
