Scholarships & Grants Eligibility Amount How to Apply
RIT Part-time Studies Grant Undergraduate student registered for between 1 to 11 credits per academic quarter. Amounts vary up to $2,000 per year. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the RIT Financial Aid Application for Undergraduate students.
Center for Multidisciplinary Studies Continuing Education Scholarship Enrolled in a Center for Multidisciplinary Studies (CMS) graduate program. Maintain a 3.0 academic average. Vary and are determined by the Center for Multidisciplinary Scholarship Committee. Complete the CMS Continuing Education Scholarship Application.
Aid for Part-time Study (New York State) Be a legal resident of New York State enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours and a maximum of 11 credit hours per quarter. $2,000 maximum per year and $666 per quarter. Award amount plus other tuition waivers cannot exceed tuition. Complete the Aid for Part-time Study application.
Federal Pell Grant Students who are pursuing their first bachelor's degree and meet Federal criteria. $400 to $2,475 per year. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Vietnam Veterans Tuition Assistance/Persian Gulf Veterans Tuition Awards (New York State) Undergraduate and registered for between 3-12 credit hours per quarter. Must be a New York State resident who served in Indochina between January 1, 1963 & May 7 1975 or in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm beginning August 2, 1990. $2,000 per year ($633/quarter), $10,000 maximum. These awards are in addition to the Tuition Assistance Program & GI Bill benefits. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete a VVTA application or the Persian Gulf Veterans Tuition Award Supplement available in the Office of Veteran Enrollment Svcs. Call 585-475-6641.
New York State Military Tuition Award Undergraduate and registered for between 3-12 credit hours per quarter. Must be a New York State resident and current member in good standing with the New York State Air National Guard, Naval Militia or Army National Guard. Up to $3,400 per year for four years. These awards are in addition to the Tuition Assistance Program & GI Bill benefits. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Contact your Education Services Officer.
Federal Direct Loans Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours per quarter). Maximum amount:
1st year - $2,625
2nd year - $3,500
3rd-5th year - $5,500
File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Federal Direct Loans- Independent Students Must meet the FAFSA definition of independence status and be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours per quarter. Maximum amount:
First year - $4,000
Second year - $4,000
Third-fifth year - $5,000
