Industrial Environmental Management
Program Overview
This certificate program was designed and developed with the active participation of RIT's Industrial Environmental Management Advisory Committee—all experienced, practicing environmental professionals from industry who have achieved the level of program manager or above. It covers all key elements of environmental management in industry. Waste minimization is emphasized as a major element of pollution control in each area of environmental management.
Courses can be applied to the BS in environmental management or applied arts and science as a professional concentration. This certificate can be completed on-campus or online. Students must achieve a program GPA of at least 2.5 in order to be certified.
Curriculum Review
The certificate consists of 24 credit hours. Prerequisites include general chemistry, college algebra, and trigonometry.
Courses:
All the courses offered in this certificate program can be applied to either full-time or part-time offerings of the bachelor of science in environmental management and technology or as part of a professional concentration in the BS degree for applied arts and science.
Admission Requirements
Prerequisites include general and organic chemistry, college algebra, and trigonometry. Enrollment is open to anyone who meets the prerequisites. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that he or she has the proper preparation to be able to succeed in the courses.
