Position Summary

Assist fulltime electrical maintenance personnel in completing work assignments


Essential Functions

Assist electrician in repair of electrical distribution and branch circuits, motor controls, lighting systems, and fire alarm systems; Change light bulbs and fluorescent tubes of various types; Assist in replacement of ballasts, switches, and receptacles


Skills Required

Basic mechanical aptitude needed; Ability to work from a step ladder, scaffold, or electric man-lift; Ability to distinguish wire colors; Able to lift at least 50 lbs; Valid driver’s license required - All verbal or written employment offers will be contingent upon completion and clearance of a motor vehicle background check


Skills Preferred

Studies in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

Position Summary

Provide Facilities Management personnel with transportation to various locations on campus. Perform various shipping and receiving duties in order to supplement regular personnel.


Essential Functions

Drive shuttle van that transports personnel to work-related activities, meetings, and seminars; Coordinate pickups through the utilization of FMS department issued cell phone; Promptly report any maintenance issues; Perform daily walk around car inspections. Fill gas tank when needed. Keep record of passenger number and/or log-book as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman of Shipping and Receiving


Skills Required

Must be available in four (4) hour blocks of time; Valid driver’s license required - All verbal or written employment offers will be contingent upon completion and clearance of a criminal and/or Motor Vehicle background check; Must use conduct at all times that is courteous, friendly, helpful, and cooperative to students, staff, coworkers, and visitors; Must have knowledge of campus locations; Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Good physical health; Experience with hand and power pallet jacks; Must have good communication skills and knowledge of campus helpful; Basic computer skills

Position Summary

Assist full time maintenance personnel in completing work assignments.


Essential Functions

Assist plumber in repair of bathroom fixtures, water fountains, unclog toilets and drains; Assist in repair of doors, frames, windows, ceiling tiles, etc. Prepare surfaces to be painted including washing, cleaning, spackling, and sanding. Apply paint under direct supervision of maintenance staff.


Non-Essential Function

Housekeeping / Clean-up


Skills Required

Basic mechanical aptitude needed; Basic trade skills; use of hand tools, tape measure; cordless tools, ladders; Manual dexterity; good eye – hand coordination; Physical coordination; ability to lift 50lbs potentially. Ability to walk 5 miles a day.


Skills Preferred

Valid driver’s license preferred – Completion and clearance of a Motor Vehicle background check

Position Summary

Assist Engineering Department staff in completing work assignments related to HVAC mechanical equipment, or control systems. Some independent work preformed on the equipment.


Essential Functions

An engineer’s helper can be assigned one or more of the following duties: • Clean Mechanical rooms on campus. Duties that are included are: dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc. Some use of cleaning chemicals is involved. • Assist engineers in servicing all types of HVAC equipment • Perform inventory of tools, equipment, filters, belts, and misc. parts on a regular basis • All other job related duties as required by department managers


Skills Required

• Interest in working with HVAC mechanical and control system equipment • Knowledge of safety and mechanical room operations and basic mechanical aptitude • Work with minimal supervision and follow assignments accurately and safely • Independent worker with good judgment • Personable and tactful with all contacts • Valid driver’s license required. All verbal or written employment offers will be contingent upon completion and clearance of a Motor Vehicle background check
