Job Description

Position Summary: Position Summary: A local, reputable company has an immediate opening for a position as its company's bookkeeper. It is currently part-time, approximately 25 hrs. per week schedule, days are flexible and could grow to more. The position requires frequent reporting to the company President, and you will be expected to provide overflow administrative support to others when needed in a busy, fast-paced office environment. Our company has tasks that change on a daily basis, and we are in search of an individual who is eager to multi-task, who is organized, can communicate well, and who has a strong work ethic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Fluency in the Windows operating environment, experience with solid knowledge of QuickBooks, as well as knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Outlook Express, and Database Management. - Invoice clients, handle the company's accounts receivable and payable, payroll processing, preparation of employee withholding taxes (both Federal and State), as well as online, bank, and credit card reconciliations. - Manage company recordkeeping as needed, creation and upkeep of centralized filing system into online server, as well as maintenance of contractual and work history document files. - Responsible for inventory control, annual inventories, and interfacing with company accountant. - Manage written and verbal communication with clients regarding all billing inquiries, as well as continual follow-up with potential clients to discuss any questions they may have. - With a staff of under ten (10) employees, some overflow administrative assistant duties may also be necessary, depending on our needs. This includes, but is not limited to, fielding client inquiries and questions, conducting research on behalf of our clients, answering phones, building and maintaining multiple daily calendars and schedules for employees, keeping the President of the company organized as well as informed of any changes. - A friendly, professional demeanor is imperative, as well as the ability to communicate well, the ability to function as a member of a team to ensure company interests, and a desire for hard work. Position Requirements: Qualifications: - An Associates Degree in a related field is required; a Bachelor's Degree in progress is preferred - Experience with QuickBooks is REQUIRED and your expertise may waive the degree requirement - Experience with bookkeeping and administrative tasks - Experience with Mac/OSX operating systems is important, but we will train the right candidate if necessary. - Have your own transportation, be reliable, and a desire to work hard. This position begins immediately. There is a six-month probationary period before a full benefits package is offered. This is a business casual work environment but still professional. Job is 25 hours a week -- employee decides upon hire what days and times between 10-5 Monday through Friday. Must have own transportation.
