Job Description

Program development - implement fun and age appropriate drills & games Supervise league staff members Follow appropriate risk management techniques to ensure the safety of participants and staff Organize supplies and materials for basketball activities Effectively communicate with parents and program director Maintain rapport with participants and their families.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Enlightened Child teaches children and their parents the basic building blocks of philosophy through a series of 13 newsletter/magazines, each showcasing the historical origin and contemporary expression of 13 classical symbols. (For instance, the first newsletter will feature the Oroborous - snake eating it's tail. This symbol originated in Egypt several thousand years ago, and has found expression in ancient Greek writings, alchemy, taoist art/philosophy, and can be seen in everything from natural patterns like weather all the way through toroidal electronics. Newsletter 2 will feature the Yin-Yang. Newsletter 7 will feature the Chakras. 10 Kabbalah. 12 Astrological Zodiac.) Your role will be to assemble my research into the 13 newsletters by laying out an overall style sheet, and crafting the imagery, writings, puzzles, games and stories into a fun, entertaining and illuminating series that provides families with 'the building blocks of great conversations.' Think of Highlights magazine... but not just for children, this content will weave together interesting bits for all ages, and provide a reference that children will return to as they grow older and develop more mature psychological capacities. The style I am looking is reminiscent of Art Nouveau / Victorian almanac meets Burning Man meets Highlights magazine. Ideally you can synthesize examples I send you and create something wholly original.

Adobe InDesign, Illustrator Some Photoshop Freehand drawing a BIG plus, but not required Project Management skills also a BIG plus. Details, details, details You must be inspired, intelligent, teachable and take initiative to drive these projects to completion. There is a completion bonus for finishing the entire series by May 2015, or sooner.
