The varsity weight room student workers are responsible for the health and wellbeing of the student athletes and the maintenance of the Tiger Power Den.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Opening the facility: • Turn on both sets of lights • Unlock both the north and south side doors • Turn on the fans if needed or requested by the student-athletes • Turn on the stereo • Fill the previous days sign in sheet and take out a fresh one • Ensure the facility is in good working condition and is safe for the student athletes to use While on duty: • Assist the student-athletes with lifts or any other questions they may have • Where applicable, aid the student-athletes with proper lifting technique • Reinforce safety instructions • Ensure that the student-athletes are following the rules and regulations of the facility • In case of an emergency, follow the Emergency Action Plan • Operate stereo for the student-athletes. Do not allow the student-athletes to operate the stereo • Do not leave the weight room for any reason • Do not use your cell phones while on duty • Maintain the cleanliness of the room throughout your entire shift • Ensure that there is always enough Lysol available for the student-athletes so that they can wipe down their machine • Ensure that student-athletes are keeping their stations clean • Ensure that proper attire is being worn by all weight room users Closing the facility • Remove all plates from machines • Return all accessories to their proper location • Re-rack and organize all weights to their appropriate position • Turn all outside stacked weights so that the tiger head logo is upright • Place dumbbells in their appropriate order with tiger head logo upright • Clean all benches and machines • Return all benches to the dumbbell area of the facility • Wipe down all 4 elliptical racks and handles with Lysol • Wipe down all 12 bikes completely with Lysol • Clean up work station • Shut off stereo • Shut off fan • Turn off lights • Complete closing checklist • Ensure doors are locked and secure
QUALIFICATION • CPR/First aid certification • Knowledgeable of anaerobic, aerobic, and flexibility training methods and techniques • Ability to lift and move 45+ pound weights • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Work Hours Weekday evenings 7-11:30pm; Sundays 12-11:30pm (sport-dependent)
Pick up and supervise use of game and field equipment. Fairly apply rules and regulations to all contests. Attend all clinics and meetings conducted by the Intramural Department for the training of officials. Must take and pass a test on officiating/department rules and regulations. Soccer, softball, basketball, football - any or all. WORKING HOURS: Mostly Sunday evenings. Varies due to weather. SECONDARY CONTACT: Daryl Sullivan 475-5596
