Position Summary

Perform varying duties needed to supplement regular maintenance personnel. Ability to assist regular maintenance personnel complete small repairs.


Essential Functions

Assist in repairing bathroom fixtures, water fountains, unclog toilets and drains; Assist in repair of domestic water pipes; Assist in repairing doors, frames, windows, ceiling tiles, etc; Assist in repairing drywall, spackling and sanding; Prepare surfaces to be painted including washing, cleaning, spackling, and sanding; Assist maintenance staff in completing painting assignments.


Skills Required

Must have worked a minimum of three quarters as Facilities Management Services Maintenance Helper III or possess related work experience in trades (carpentry, plumbing, etc.); Familiarity with RIT campus; Experience with use of hand tools and power tools


Skills Preferred

Valid driver’s license preferred – Completion and clearance of a Motor Vehicle background check

Position Summary

Assist full time maintenance personnel in completing work assignments.


Essential Functions

Assist plumber in repair of bathroom fixtures, water fountains, unclog toilets and drains; Assist in repair of doors, frames, windows, ceiling tiles, etc. Prepare surfaces to be painted including washing, cleaning, spackling, and sanding. Apply paint under direct supervision of maintenance staff.


Non-Essential Function

Housekeeping / Clean-up


Skills Required

Basic mechanical aptitude needed; Basic trade skills; use of hand tools, tape measure; cordless tools, ladders; Manual dexterity; good eye – hand coordination; Physical coordination; ability to lift 50lbs potentially. Ability to walk 5 miles a day.


Skills Preferred

Valid driver’s license preferred – Completion and clearance of a Motor Vehicle background check
