The role of IT

The Business Technology Division leverages synergies and skills to provide end-to-end support for our corporate data and systems.

Change Management & Information Technology (IT) Execution

Responsibilities: The end-to-end support of our business applications. This area is accountable for requirements definition, business process engineering, system configuration, application development and testing activities that help to ensure the integrity of our production applications. Key accountability extends to project management, release management, change management and software quality.

System Operations, Security & Business Technology Administration

Responsibilities: Ensuring the readiness and protection of our computer resources and information. This team is responsible for the security controls that safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our information and computing assets. Staff manages our hardware, systems and networks. Responsibility extends to compliance and audit (e.g. Sarbanes Oxley), Disaster Recovery and for the administration of division-level programs and communications.

Information Management & Architecture

Responsibilities: Developing solutions with a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, data, and technology assets to ensure that business needs are met with technology-based solutions that leverage the enterprise architecture. This team is also responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of reporting platforms and data warehouses that support all internal and external reporting and informatics, including employer group reporting. This area manages the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and other Electronic Data Integration (EDI) and Health Data Exchange Network (HDEN) initiatives.

Strategic Sourcing

Responsibilities: Developing sourcing strategies and vendor relationships to supply quality temporary staff to meet project commitments.


Responsibilities: Delivering the quality execution of the Transformation program which establishes standard business processes built around a single optimized membership and claims processing system (iFacets).
