Learn to Play Hockey Program

The Learn-to-Play Hockey program at RIT was developed by the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA).  Each session offers a weekly instruction with an hour of ice time. Lessons are customized to both a beginner level and an intermediate level.  Both levels focus heavily on the fundamentals for properly skating while playing hockey!

Beginner Hockey:  The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating.  In 4 levels, skaters will learn to move faster and be more agile on the ice.  All elements will be taught without a stick or puck as proper skating techniques are the primary focus of the levels.  Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals to be successful in game situations.  Helmet and hockey skates required

Intermediate Hockey: Include drills incorporating stick handling with a focus on skating skills.  Full hockey equipment and skates required.
