Overview of Facilities
RIT offers a variety of options for faculty and staff to get regular physical activity while on campus. Healthy individuals should get a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise each week. The associated benefits of exercise are well-known and include heart-lung health, lean muscles, healthy bones, less stress and much more. Exercise is NOT PUNISHMENT; it’s your gift to yourself. Be mindful and find an activity or two that you enjoy, and better, yet include a friend, co-worker or family member.
All faculty and staff have free use of two excellent fitness facilities: the Student Life Center (SLC) and the Global Village Wellness Center. Your RIT faculty/staff I.D. is all you need to gain access to either one. Present your I.D. to the reception desk at the SLC during regular operating hours. You also have the ability to get a locker, towel, and a variety of sports equipment free of charge.
The Global Village Wellness Center is available to faculty and staff via swipe access 24/7. The facility includes a small fitness area, exercise studio and locker rooms. Individuals are welcome to use the studio any time fitness classes are not in session.
