Publishing Reports with Excel 2007

Microsoft Office 2007 Instructions

When you first open Excel 2007:

  1. Click on the Windows button in the upper left corner
  2. Click on the Excel Options button at the bottom of the menu.
  3. On the left side of the screen click on the Trust Center.
  4. Click on the Trust Center Settings button.
  5. On the left side of the screen click on Macro Settings.
  6. Select "Trust Access to the VBA Project Object Model".

Journal Entries:

  1. When you create a je template in Excel you will see a Security Warning toolbar right above the formula bar. Click on the Options button, select "Enable this Content", and click the OK button.
  2. The "Add-Ins" tab will appear after the "View" tab at the top of your screen. Click on the "Add-Ins" tab and you will see "Oracle" with a drop down arrow.
  3. Click on the drop down arrow next to the word "Oracle" and you will see your Oracle functions that you need to use with your journal entry template, (Filters, List of Values, Upload and Monitor).
  4. When you save the journal entry, you may want to save it in file type Excel 97-2003 Workbook so that others can use it as well. If you do Excel will tell you that some of the styles and format may not exist in the old format.

Publishing FSG Reports to Excel:

  1. When you choose to open a report in Excel 2007 you get a Microsoft Office Excel alert box that tells you:
    “The file you are trying to open, 'FNDWRR.exe', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file.
    Do you want to open the file now?”
  2. Click the "Yes" button and the report will publish to Excel.
  3. The report title bar will say "Read Only". When you save the report, you may want to save it in file type Excel 97-2003 Workbook so that others can use it as well. If you do Excel will tell you that some of the styles and format may not exist in the old format.

If there is a lag in the “Create Document” process, please execute these steps in IE:

  1. Open Internet Explorer browser window.
  2. Click on Tools Menu.
  3. When the Tools menu appears, click "Internet Options" at the bottom of the Tools menu.
  4. Internet Options dialog box appears as shown below. Click on the security tab.
  5. When the Security page appears, click the "Internet" icon in the "Select a zone" box and then click the "Custom Level..” button.
  6. When the "Security Settings" dialog box appears, scroll down to "Scripting" on the menu. Enable “Allow status bar updates script.” Select OK
  7. You may receive a Warning. Please select "Yes"
  8. Finally, click "OK" to close the Internet Options dialog box.
  9. Close the browser window so that new settings can be used.
  10. Recheck the issue.
