Immigration Workshop

If you are involved in recruiting and hiring faculty or staff, you need to be familiar with immigration laws and procedures. We are pleased to offer a seminar conducted by Mr. Frank Novak, representing RIT's legal counsel for immigration matters, Harter, Secrest & Emery.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Nonimmigrant visa categories - opportunities and limits on hiring foreign nationals
  • Planning for permanent residence (green card) - avoiding unnecessary costs and delays
  • Best practices for recruiting and retaining foreign nationals

By having a strong understanding of these topics and issues, participants will gain the knowledge and skills that will make them a key component in helping RIT to maintain its reputable Core Values, Mission, and Vision Statement.

Lori Sykes of the Compliance & Ethics department will be at this session to answer your questions concerning RIT’s internal process for obtaining visas for faculty and staff.

Jeff Cox of the International Student Affairs office will also be at this session to answer your questions concerning RIT students and visas.

If you require interpreting services, please contact cpdcoop@rit.edu as soon as possible.
