Community Meeting Status and Results

Existing Conditions and Needs - March 17, 18, 2008

The first phase meetings were held at the SAU Fireside Lounge throughout the day on Monday and on Tuesday morning. This first set of meetings was held in an open house format where community members stopped by and contributed to the process at their own speed. MAB (consulting team) hosted the meetings and were available to answer any questions and receive individual feedback. Various members of the Steering Committee were also present throughout these meetings. There were a series of presentation boards displayed at the community meetings can be found here. These included storyboards on Pedestrian circulation, Bicycles use, Transit services, Parking services, and Travel Demand Management. The last two stations in the process provided an opportunity to test our communities values related to Parking preferences and how the University should invest Institute dollars. The results of the feedback obtained are outlined below:

Options and Alternatives – April 14, 15, 2008

The second phase meetings were held at the SAU (Clark C and Fireside Lounge) throughout the day on Monday and on Tuesday morning. These meetings was held in a focus group format where MAB (consulting team) made a formal presentation on the results and feedback received from the March meetings followed by an array of thought provoking options, alternatives related to various modes of transportation on campus (pedestrians, bicycle, transit, vehicular and travel demand management techniques). MAB along with Jon Maurer and Paula Benway were available to answer questions throughout the meetings. There presentation can be found here. The MAB team is in the process of incorporating the feedback received on the Options and Alternatives presented and will be developing draft strategy recommendations for the upcoming May meetings.

Strategy Recommendations – May 8, 2008

The last community meetings in this series was held at the Golisano Auditorium on Thursday, May 8th. The meetings were formal presentations by MAB (consulting team). MAB along with Jon Maurer and Paula Benway were available to answer questions at the end of each presentation session. The presentation can be found here. The MAB team is in the process of incorporating the feedback received and will be developing the final strategy recommendations. The recommendations presented will be further discussed by the Steering Committee and governance groups in the immediate future.
