The driver certification process is a pre-qualifier for renting or driving any Student Government or Parking & Transportation vehicle. The process includes a quick test on basic driving knowledge along with a DMV background check. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and the process may take a few days to complete. If you have an out of state driver license, please contact your state department of motor vehicles for a driver record abstract, in order to expedite the certification process. The driver certification card is valid for one year. Each driver is responsible for contacting the Office of Parking & Transportation Services with updated information related to their driving record. An updated background check will be performed every six (6) months. The driver certification privileges may be revoked if you have 4 or more points on your driving record.
Please download the Driver Certification Application form and return it to the transportation office. Once the application is received and processed, the office will contact you to complete the Driver Certification Test.
