David began working at RIT in February of 2005, working first as a Senior Environmental Health Specialist, then being promoted to the Director position in March 2009. He has over fifteen years experience in the environmental health and safety field, focusing heavily on environmental regulatory compliance, but also including health and safety consulting. Prior to coming to RIT, David worked for Nixon Peabody LLP in Rochester, New York and Gallatin Steel Company in Ghent, Kentucky.
At RIT David is responsible for directing overall compliance with all environmental, health, safety and fire safety regulations and for managing all EHS professional staff, co-op students, and student employees. He is also responsible for the development and implementation of a campus-wide environmental health and safety management system (EMS).
David is a member (and past Chairman) of the Industrial Issues Committee of the New York Water Environment Association, the Center for Environmental Information, Inc., the National Safety Council, the Campus Safety Health & Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA), the SEHSA Environmental Health & Safety Association, and the Air & Waste Management Association.
Dave holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering Technologies from Cornell University.
