Fall Break and Intersession Information
This year, fall break and intersession takes place Dec. 20, 2013-Jan. 26, 2014.
RIT Housing Operations
All students living in the residence halls must leave their room during break and intersession. The halls close Friday, Dec. 20 at 10:00 a.m. Rooms are reserved at the RIT Inn & Conference Center for residence hall students staying for intersession or unable to leave the area during this time. Students will only need to bring items they will need for their stay at the RIT Inn Friday, Dec. 20–Monday, Jan. 20. There will not be access to the dorms, so make sure to take the items needed during the break/intersession. See End of Fall Semester Residence Hall Preparation Guide regarding computer connectivity, laundry, etc. at the RIT Inn. There will be additional Residence Life staff at the RIT Inn and Conference Center during break/intersession for your support.
Reserving a Room at the RIT Inn (Residence Hall Students Only)
To make a reservation for a room at the RIT Inn, please contact Donna Black at email@example.com or 585-475-4651 no later than five business days prior to your desired stay. There is no additional cost related to a stay at the RIT Inn & Conference Center for residence hall students who make a reservation by contacting Donna Black in Housing Operations. The Institute and all administrative offices will be closed for the holiday break, Dec. 25– Jan. 1, therefore reservation requests for the RIT Inn will not be processed during this time. The residence halls will reopen on Monday, Jan. 20.
RIT Apartments, Global Village, UC Suites, Greek Circle, and the RIT Inn
All students who are continuing from fall semester through spring semester and live in RIT apartments, Global Village, UC suites, Greek Circle, and the RIT Inn, may remain in their housing during break. There is no additional cost for remaining in your RIT housing during the break/intersession.
The terms of RIT housing and the behavioral expectations remain the same for all students during break/intersession.
RIT Dining Services
Dining Services will have dining options available for all students during break and intersession. Your spring semester dining debit will be activated on Friday, Dec. 20, therefore you will be able to use your dining debit at any open RIT dining facility.
RIT Shuttle Service
Free shuttle service will run during the break and intersession, with the exception of the days that the Institute is closed for the holiday break, Dec. 25–Jan. 1.
