SVP/NTID Student Orientation

Incoming freshman

Returning Students

NTID/SVP Student Orientation:

Move in will be Friday August 16, 2013 in SDC (Bldg. 55) room 1320 from 9:00-4:00.  Staff from the Campus Post office will be set up from 8:00-4:00 to pass out mailbox keys at that location. A “here” card will be signed and dated by each student and your key will be handed to you.  If you have shipped packages to RIT prior to your arrival you will be able to pick your package(s) up at the Campus Post office located in bldg. 43 (across from the Corner Store) Friday between 8:30-4:00. The mailboxes are located in the lobby at NRH.  The NRH Post Office will be open 9:00-4:00 on Saturday August 17.

The street name used for the Post office is “Nathaniel Rochester Hall” no matter what bldg. you’re assigned to within the Residence Halls.

Move in will be Tuesday, August 20 from 9:00-5:00 PM. Staff from the NRH & GV Campus Post offices will be set up in the lots along with housing operations according to the building you live in.  A “here” card will be signed and dated by each student and your key will be handed to you.  If you have shipped packages to RIT prior to your arrival you will be able to pick your package (s) up at the Campus Post office located in Nathaniel Rochester Hall (across from the Corner Store).  The post office will be open from 8:30AM – 6:30 PM that day.

Returning Students

Move in will be Wednesday August 21-25, 2013

Residence Hall students:  Staff from the campus post office will be available to hand out mailbox keys during open hours at the NRH Post Office. 

Students living in UC, Riverknoll or GV:  Staff from the GV campus post office will be available at the Global Village post office to hand out mailbox keys during open hours. Please visit our website for the hours of operation.

If you live UC, Global Village, or Riverknoll and are returning to these locations you will keep your same mailbox number.  If you kept your mailbox key there is no need for you to do anything.  If you did not keep your mailbox key please stop at the post office to renew your key for this year

Move - out summer

SUMMER 2012-4 CHECK OUT PROCEDURES:

For students staying in the same location:

Since you will be staying in the same location for the fall quarter please come to the post office and sign a new card for the academic year

13-14.  Failure to do so will result in a fee charged to your RIT bill in the amount of $10.00

Example: If you live in Gleason (or the res halls) and are returning to any of the res halls you will keep your same mailbox number; therefore, you need to sign a new card at the NRH post office.

Example: If you live UC, Global Village, or Riverknoll and are returning to these locations you will keep your same mailbox number.  If you kept your mailbox key there is no need for you to do anything.  If you did not keep your mailbox key please stop at the post office to renew your key for this year

For students moving out and living in new housing:

Since you will no longer be staying in the same housing you must turn in your mailbox key to the post office no later than August 15, 2013.  Remember to fill out the online forwarding form located on our website so your mail can be forwarded to your new address.
