Gordon Field House
For the last 6 years JDRF’s Rochester Walk to Cure Diabetes has been held right here on the RIT Campus. This year’s walk starts with registration/fun @ 9AM in the Gordon Field House on Sunday, May 15th
Unfortunately we all know too many people who have this terrible disease. Please think about joining the RIT Tiger Team and help in the search for a cure for diabetes. It actually is a really fun event.
As one of this year’s Co-Chairs of the RIT Tiger Team, I have been touched by diabetes as my daughter Sarah was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes when she was just 3 years old. The day she was diagnosed was one of the worst days of my life. Her disease is incurable and she will live with it the rest of her life - unless a cure is found. She is now 14 and doing very well and to look at her you would never know she had a life threatening disease, but like many others she is still waiting for the cure.
For Yvette Torres, my Co Chair, her husband had diabetes and it affected him so badly that he suffered from kidney failure- luckily in his case he was able to receive organ transplants that not only cured the kidney failure but also cured his diabetes.
Please think about joining the RIT TIGER Team.
This year’s walk starts with registration/fun @ 9AM in the Gordon Field House on Sunday, May 15th
The walk around campus begins @ 10am. There is no minimum donation however you are required to register online at www.JDRF.org Thanks and hope to see you there!
I’d also like to Thank Sydney Long from NTID who has been the RIT Tiger Team Chair for the last 6+years and has graciously handed over the reins to Yvette and myself-Thanks for all your hard work and we hope to make you proud.
