Professor recognized for contributions to mobile forensics research and education

ForensicsColleges.com recently released their list of the “10 Top Computer Forensics Professors,” noting, “from analyzing information technology to retrieving pertinent data from mobile or laptop devices, computer forensics professionals are the key to extracting data from devices to use in the courts for further evidence in investigations.”  Professor Rick Mislan, who has helped develop RIT’s leading computing security offerings and is a member of the Golisano College’s new Computing Security Department was named to the list. ForensicsColleges.com recognized Mislan’s work a review editor for the National Institute of Standards and Technology where he has “helped develop guidelines for cell phone and PDA forensics.”  Mislan has also served as editor for the Small Scale Digital Device Forensics Journal, and as a Communications Electronic Warfare Officer for the U.S. Army. He continues to consult state and federal agencies in mobile device forensics.
