Travel Arrangements

Rochester, New York is located in western New York, approximately sixty miles east of the beautiful Niagara Falls. The RIT campus is located five miles from the Greater Rochester International Airport and five miles from the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90, Exit 46). The conference hotel provides shuttle service to/from the airport. If you are staying in on-campus housing, taxis to campus are available at the airport for approximately $15 US dollars.

Rental cars from most major rental agencies are also available at the airport. Leaving the airport, turn right on Brooks Avenue and take an immediate right onto Route 390 South. From 390 take the next exit (Scottsville Road) and turn right. Drive for approximately three miles then turn left on Jefferson Road. Proceed approximately 1/4 mile. The RIT campus will be on your right.

To reach the campus from the NYS Thruway (Interstate 90), take exit 46 and proceed north on Interstate 390 to exit 13 (Hylan Drive). Turn left on Hylan Drive and continue north to Jefferson Road, then turn left. Proceed west approximately one mile. The RIT campus will be on your left.


Conference participants and their guests have the choice of staying in on-campus housing or the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Please reserve a room of your choice while registering for the conference.

On-Campus Housing

Rooms are available at RIT’s newest housing complex: the Global Village. Rooms are arranged in suites with five bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and two full baths. You may reserve either a room with a single bed for $45 per night or a room with two single beds at $45 per night per person. All rooms are air-conditioned and include bed linens, pillow, blanket, washcloth, two towels, and a lamp. Off-Campus Housing

The RIT Inn and Conference Center (585-359-1800), 5257 West Henrietta Road, Henrietta, NY, is located five miles from the RIT campus. The RIT Inn offers the following: complimentary continental breakfast, shuttle service to/from RIT and the airport, on-site restaurant, pool, and sauna. Rooms with two double beds are available for $94 per night. Reservations for the RIT Inn and Conference Center should be made through this website to secure this preferred rate.


  • A wine and cheese reception, with early registration table, will be hosted by RIT on Sunday evening
  • An optional dinner cruise on the historic Erie Canal is planned for Tuesday evening*
  • Wednesday afternoon’s excursion will take the group by bus to the Genesee Country Museum which will be followed by an outdoor barbecue at the home of Peter and Jane Anderson
  • The conference banquet will be held on Thursday evening at Artesan Works. Time to tour the gallery is scheduled prior to dinner.
  • An optional bus trip to view the magnificent Niagara Falls is scheduled for Saturday*. The excursion will depart for an All American Adventure tour. You will see the Falls from a historic perspective: from the Nation’s Oldest State Park. You will visit Goat Island and Luna Island for spectacular views of the American and Bridal Veil Falls. You will take the breath taking Cave of the Winds trip (complete with souvenir sandals and raincoat), visit Terrapin Point and Three Sisters Islands, visit the New York State observation tower, and ride the world famous Maid of the Mist boat. Lunch will be served at the Top of the Falls Restaurant.

You may register by completing the Conference Registration Form on this website. The registration fee for the conference will be $400 US dollars. This fee must be paid in advance. Payments are accepted online by completing the registration forms on this website. This fee includes one copy of the proceedings, the Wednesday afternoon excursion to the Genesee Country Museum, the Wednesday evening cookout at Peter Anderson’s home, the Thursday evening conference banquet at Artesan Works, transportation to/from these events, morning and afternoon coffee or tea, and a commemorative 8 x 10 photograph of the conference attendees. Accompanying guests are invited to enjoy these scheduled activities for $200 per person (does not include break refreshments or photograph).

Lunches may be purchased ala carte from a number of locations across campus or at the nearby Park Point.
