Game Modding

Do you enjoy games like Call of Duty, Halo, and Counter Strike? Have you thought about the game world that you play in or how these environments came to be? Explore the world of 3D environments while creating a level for the popular computer game Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). Students enrolling in this class will learn about the Source Engine and its level editor Hammer. Some topics covered include: BSP geometry, props, scripting, lighting, skyboxes, and optimization. By the end of the workshop, students will have the knowledge and skill set to create beautiful, compelling, and fun environments. (We will provide temporary Steam accounts with the game for use in the classroom. By registering you for this workshop, your parents understand that CS:GO is a first-person shooter game, and consent to have you exposed to its simulated violence within the academic context of this workshop).
