  1. What is Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend?

    Brick City Homecoming is RIT’s annual tradition to celebrate alumni, students, parents & families, faculty, staff and friends of the University.

  2. Is Brick City Homecoming just for alumni?

    No. RIT combines parent weekend and alumni reunions into one big event. All are welcome!

  3. Do I need to pre-register / sign-up for events?

    Yes! Most events have a limited capacity and fill up or sell out quickly. Pre-registration is highly recommended.

  4. If I did not pre-register / sign-up for events, can I still attend Homecoming?

    Of course! But please be aware if you are interested in a specific program or event, it may be sold out or at capacity.

  5. How do I register?

    On-line: This is the most efficient and fastest way to guarantee your tickets and attendance at various events.

    Mail-in: A printable form is available on the website. Mail- in forms will be processed on a first come - first serve basis.

  6. I registered and bought tickets on-line. How do I get them?

    You will need to pick up your tickets at the Welcome Center during the scheduled Check in times. The Welcome Center hours are available under the Check in Info tab on the website.

  7. Can I send my student to pick-up my packet?

    Yes. They will need to show their ID.

  8. I registered for events but need to make a few changes. How do I do that?

    Once you have created an account and registered for events, you will be able to log-in to the website with your email address and password to make the allowable changes.

    NOTE: Changes/refunds are not available for The Horton Speaker, Comedian or Men’s and Women’s Hockey games.

  9. How do I cancel my registration if I can no longer attend?

    You can cancel your registration on-line. However, refunds will not be given for the Horton Speaker, Comedian, or Men’s and Women’s Hockey games. All other refunds will be honored.

  10. Can I park on campus?

    Parking is open to all attendees for Homecoming. Ticketing will be suspended during the weekend in reserved parking spaces. You must display your Handicapped parking tag/sticker in order to park in these spaces.

  11. Is there reserved seating for ticketed events?

    All seating for the Horton Speaker, Comedian and Men’s and Women’s hockey games at Ritter Ice Arena is general admission. Venues open one hour before each event. For the first time this year, seating for the Men’s hockey game at Blue Cross Arena is RESERVED.

  12. Do you provide handicapped accessible seating at the major entertainment venues?

    Accessibility is available in the Gordon Field House through the lower level. We recommend coming early since the seating is general admission.

    The Blue Cross Arena has accessibility and designated areas for wheelchairs and strollers.

    Frank Ritter Ice Arena has accessibility through the upper level. We recommend coming early as seating is general admission.

  13. Are there accommodations for guests to stay on campus?

    No. There is a list of area hotels on the Homecoming website under the Important Info tab.

  14. Is there transportation available?

    RIT does not provide off-campus transportation from the airport, train station, or hotels. Attendees staying at RIT Inn & Conference Center will be able to use the complimentary shuttle service to and from campus. Schedules will be available at the hotel check-in.

    RTS will provide complimentary on-campus bus service. The RTS schedule does not include stops at the RIT Inn & Conference Center.

    RIT will provide complimentary shuttle service from campus to the hockey game at the Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester, on Sat. October 12th. Shuttles will run from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm, departing from Lot S on campus, to the Blue Cross Arena. Shuttles wills return to campus immediately following the end of the game.

  15. Where can I eat?

    A schedule will be available at check in of the various on campus dining locations. A dining guide for Rochester locations is listed on the website under the check in info tab.

    If you plan eating off campus, reservations are highly recommended, if the restaurant allows.

  16. Does RIT provide wheelchairs or strollers?

    RIT does not provide these items. You may contact Monroe Wheelchair @ 585-385-3920 and arrange a rental.

    RIT will also have “People Movers” roaming around campus to help shuttle guests who having difficulty walking.
