The New SIS is Now Available to Authorized Faculty & Staff

The GeneSIS project team is pleased to announce that the new Student Information System (SIS) is now available to authorized RIT faculty and staff. To access the new SIS, faculty and staff will visit infocenter.rit.edu/facultystaff, click the new Student Information System link, and then log in using their RIT username and password.

Once logged in, advisors and faculty will be able to access their self-service centers. Through the Advisor Center, advisors will be able to access their full list of advisees, a view to each of their advisees’ Student Center, and other important academic information. Faculty can view the classes they are scheduled to teach in Fall 2012 and, once enrollment begins, they will be able to view the students that have enrolled in or are on the wait list for their classes. Grading will not take place in the new SIS until the end of the Fall 2012, so faculty do not need to take immediate action in the new system.

The SIS training team has been hosting open training sessions since February to help prepare the campus for this transition. All of the training materials for faculty, staff, and advisors have been posted to the SIS Training website. If you have questions about the new SIS, you can send an email to ritenrollment@rit.edu. We will be monitoring these throughout the day and will respond as quickly as possible. If you experience a technical problem with the system, we ask you to report the problem here.

Hands-on support will be available the week of April 16th in the University Services Center room 1230. Staff will be on hand to assist you Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-2pm, and Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-12pm. Appointments are not required. If you are having difficulty with the system, please feel free to stop by for support.

Students are expected to gain access to the new SIS early next week, and an official announcement will be sent through Message Center once they have access.
