NPRL develops new materials and devices for power generation and storage for microelectronic components and micro-electromechanical systems compatible with the current needs of microsystem technologies by exploiting opportunities in nanotechnology such as:

  • Carbon nanotubes for high-density storage in lithium ion batteries
  • Semiconductor quantum dots for high-efficiency solar cells
  • Organic/polymer photovoltaics

NPRL encompasses 6 separate laboratories with a combined total of over 6000 sq. ft. of research space.

  • Field emission scanning electron microscope
  • Fournier transform infrared spectrophotometer
