Imaging Products Laboratory
Validation Technology at the Imaging Products Laboratory (IPL) provides customers with a diverse range of independent third-party testing of home and office products for toner, inkjet, consumables, and media. IPL is staffed to deliver applied research and product testing and validation for the small office/home office market. Established in 2000, IPL has: a 4,000-square-foot lab that is climate controlled to TAPPI standards, a research staff with over 150 years of combined industrial and design experience with imaging products, performed more than 1,000 projects per year, maintaining >99% on-time project delivery.
Testing can be performed on prototypes, preproduction samples, in-production parts and other system components and consumables. The laboratory efficiently manages the research elements of programs and provides regular progress updates to customers. The final performance results are delivered as confidential reports, but can be published at the client’s request. Customers are invited to specify unique experimental regimens to satisfy individual testing requirements.
IPL provides testing compliant with industry standard protocols including ISO, ASTM, DIN, and TAPPI. IPL has the equipment and capability to perform most industry standards and commonly performed evaluations.
IPL provides comprehensive and realistic assessments which go beyond standardized testing. Current assessments include accelerated aging, total cost of ownership, stress testing, HALT testing, environmental testing, environmental compliance, benchmarking, and alternative supplier evaluation.
IPL is experienced in testing equipment, components and materials, and assess product modifications, redesign of packaging, materials and substitutions of pre-production samples in a secure area. All testing and results are strictly confidential.
IPL is uniquely qualified to assist in the area of quality assurance. Independent random sampling of products can assure clients that quality standards remain at an acceptable level at their manufacturing sites and that customer satisfaction is being serviced.
