Direct Assistance

GIS' New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) provides technical assistance for individual New York State companies, RTDC's, cluster organizations and additional research and development entities in the areas of:

  • Technology diffusion
  • Process improvement and implementation
  • Workforce training

In addition, NYSP2I's Outreach, Inreach, and Marketing functions serve as a communication pipeline into the NYSP2I for individual companies, clusters, RTDCs and other technical assistance providers to deliver assessment tools, technical information, R&D, and diffusion activities for their use or for clients.

Funding availability in new training grants to New York State businesses for upgrading the skills of their workforce may be available to qualifying businesses to offset a portion of the service costs. Funding is available to:

  • A private sector, for-profit, or not-for-profit business
  • A group of two or more such businesses with the same or similar training needs
  • A business in conjunction with a labor organization
  • New and incumbent workers employed in New York State
