Physical Fitness Evaluations

Full Fitness Evaluation
60 minutes, $10* (RIT students) / $20* (RIT Faculty/Staff)

This service will provide the client with a comprehensive evaluation of their physical fitness taking into account all five components of health related fitness:

  1. Body composition (% body fat) via ultrasound evaluation
  2. Muscular strength via bench or leg press 1 repetition maximum test
  3. Muscular endurance via push-up and curl-up tests
  4. Cardiopulmonary function via treadmill or stationary bicycle tests
  5. Flexibility via sit and reach test
  • All clients will undergo a basic medical screening prior to the assessment.
  • Clients will need clothing and footwear suitable for exercise.
  • Please review the Test Preparation document 24 hours prior to your assessment.

Individual Fitness Evaluation
$5 per component tested*, 30 minutes

Clients interested in evaluating only a particular aspect of their physical fitness may choose from the following list of assessments:

  1. Body composition (% body fat) via ultrasound evaluation
  2. Muscular strength via bench or leg press 1 repetition maximum test
  3. Muscular endurance via push-up and curl-up tests
  4. Cardiopulmonary function via treadmill or stationary bicycle tests
  5. Flexibility via sit and reach test

Basic Fitness Evaluation, $5*, 60 minutes

This service provides the client with a comprehensive evaluation of their physical fitness taking into account all four of the five components of health related fitness:

  3. Cardiopulmonary function via 3 minute step test
  4. Flexibility via sit and reach test
  • All clients will undergo a basic medical screening prior to the assessment.
  • Clients will need clothing and footwear suitable for exercise.
  • Please review the Test Preparation document 24 hours prior to your assessment.

Specialty Evaluations, Price TBD*, 60 minutes

  • The Fitness Lab offers clients many specialty evaluations beyond those listed in our Full Fitness Evaluation and our Individual Evaluation.
  • Specialty evaluations can include other means of assessing the five areas of health related fitness or may include evaluations of one or more components of skill related fitness, including: speed, reaction time, agility, balance, coordination, and power.

* Payment for all services is required prior to service appointment. Payment can be made at the HAC Front Office Window located just inside the Quarter Mile entrance. Please bring your payment voucher to the Fitness Lab after completing the payment process.
