Health Systems Administration

Curriculum/Course Schedule

The master of science in health systems administration builds on a foundation of courses in health care delivery systems (US and other countries), financial management, quality improvement, operations, law and ethics, strategy formulation and leadership. Additional options are provided through elective course selections within and outside of the HSA program, building an integrated program that meets the specific interests of participating students.

This online program allows students to pursue their degree while maintaining full-time employment in locations around the world. Courses are offered in 7-week terms, with five terms offered each year. Flexible enrollment allows students to decide how to pursue their degrees. Students enrolled part-time can complete the MS degree in less than three years. Students enrolled full-time can complete the program in less than two years. Refer to MS Degree Plan Scenarios for more information.

Another distinct advantage of the program’s design is the diversity of the student population. Our students come from a wide variety of geographic regions in the US and countries outside the US. Additionally, students enrolled in the program are working in a variety of clinical and non-clinical professions and a variety of health care settings to include health care systems, long term care, home care, insurance, etc.  These varying perspectives allow for creative discussions and an expanded view of many global health issues. The ability to share information and ideas, and to compare and contrast strategies, allows students a level of creativity and scope of practice not found in the traditional classroom.
