Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Your experience in the classroom will be supplemented by participation in a clinical internship where you will put your sonography skills and techniques to use at two or more medical facilities. We believe that these experiences help to develop the balanced, well-educated, and competent sonographer/echocardiographer in you. You'll gain experience in abdominal, small parts, obstetrical, gynecological, and/or cardiac ultrasound and be introduced to vascular ultrasound and other specialties such as neurosonography. Your internship will allow you to apply classroom theory while acquiring real-world experience in sonography/echocardiography, as well as fulfilling a prerequisite for the national qualifying exam administered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This exam is required for all candidates wishing to practice sonography, both nationally and globally.
