Volunteers are essential members of Imagine RIT, and we need hundreds of people just like you to ensure that the festival is a success. You can review our volunteer FAQ below to obtain more information on training, T‑shirt pick up, and festival check-in.

We look forward to working with you!

Volunteer FAQ

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Most volunteer positions require a 3-hour time commitment and involve standing and interacting with visitors for the duration of the shift. Interpreters are assigned to volunteers who may need assistance communicating with visitors.

Volunteer by registering above. We are using a platform called CERVIS that enables festival organizers to communicate with volunteers more efficiently. You should receive a confirmation email with your volunteer assignment(s). If you do not receive confirmation, please send an email to Debbie Kiel, Associate Director of Conferences and Special Events, at dlkgrl@rit.edu

Volunteers may login to their account on the registration page and update their profile and/or assignment information at any time.

On Monday, April 22, 2024, 10am-4:30pm, in the Student Alumni Union (SAU) Room 1510 (also known as the 1829 Room), volunteers may drop by to pick up a T-shirt, poster, tote bag, and a festival program.

We will hold brief, half-hour training sessions throughout the day (12pm, 2pm, 3:30pm). While volunteer training is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged to help make your volunteer experience and the experience of festival visitors a pleasant one.

If you are unable to pick up your shirt on April 22, you will receive your T-shirt on the day of the festival when you check-in.

Details for your check-in location will be sent via email after you've registered for a volunteer assignment. If you forget your assigned check-in location, please report to the first floor lobby of the Eastman building the day of the festival.

If your shift is during a time you would normally eat, please plan accordingly by bringing water and a snack with you. Volunteers will receive a meal voucher for RIT Dining Services when they check-in the day of the festival. Please check-in early if you would like to eat before the start of your shift.

Imagine RIT volunteers should wear their (free) volunteer T-shirt that may be picked up in advance at a training session, or on the day of the festival at the time of check-in. Please do not wear a volunteer T-shirt from a previous festival as the sponsor information on the backside of the shirts changes each year.

In case of inclement weather, please add layers underneath your T-shirt, in order to give full credit to our sponsors, the logos of which appear on the backside of T-shirts.

Please email Debbie Kiel, Associate Director of Conferences and Special Events, at dlkgrl@rit.edu. Thank you.
