Freedom of the Press: Printing 18th-Century Style

Description:
In 2016, an ambitious team of RIT students produced a functioning and historically-accurate wooden printing press. Visitors will print a copy of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution on the press and experience how documents, books, and newspapers were produced in the 18th century. Also on hand will be interpreters from the Genesee Country Village & Museum who will demonstrate the blacksmithing techniques used to make the press' metal parts.
