Syncopated Surfing Ring
Exhibit Code: CSI-104
Zone: Innovation Center
Location: Center for Student Innovation (CSI/087) - Room 1100
Time: All Day
Research has shown that playing in drum circle groups provides participants with numerous health and wellness benefits. Surfing is a sport that engages the core muscles and greatly improves balance, and, like drumming, is well-known for its ability to offset the negative effects of stress and enhance a sense of well-being. Visitors will test their "rhythm and balance" through a "syncopated surfing ring" -- making musical patterns/loops using handheld percussion instrument while executing hula-style moves upon a surfing simulator.
