Interaction Between Real and Simulated Devices
Exhibit Code: GOL-123
Zone: Computer Zone
Location: Golisano Hall (GOL/070) - 1455
Time: All Day
Description:
Experimental results obtained from simulation of wired or wireless networks might help understand network performance. However, does this cover all aspects of the real-world scenario? OPNET, a network simulation tool, has a module called System-In-The-Loop (SITL) that involves sending and receiving of real data packets through a simulated network environment. Visitors will experience the 3D view of the network models used which will provide a better view of the simulation. Using network visualization, we design the network like it would be in the real world and send traffic from the Internet to this model. You may also see videos being streamed over the network.
