Description:
One of the main energy consumers in people’s everyday lives is their home refrigerator. The introduction of phase change materials (PCMs) into refrigerator/freezer units extends the acceptable off time. This allows the unit to be turned on or off according to the local power demand, known as Demand Management. Our SMART refrigerator has potential economic advantages for the consumer by limiting the amount of power consumed in a given time interval, typically during peak time when power is most expensive.
