Wireless Power Transmission
Exhibit Code: GLE-114
Zone: Engineering Park
Location: James E. Gleason Hall (GLE/009) - Erdle Commons
Time: All Day
Description:
Two teams of students are currently researching and developing a module and test rig for transcutaneous (through the skin) power transmission. The project involves the transmission of power through a gap using passive magnetic coupling. This unit has potential as a medical device, and is intended as a proof-of-concept for future application in ventricular assist devices. This project is intended to transmit power, wirelessly, without the use of magnetic induction.
