Description:
StoreWorld™ is a fun, engaging, and educational social game developed as a collaboration across RIT's E. Philip Saunders College of Business, B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, and College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. Students and faculty worked together to make a game that introduces students to fundamental business concepts by running a virtual clothing store. Working in teams, players balance marketing, reputation, employees, and a whole lot of computer-generated shoppers to profit more than everyone else playing StoreWorld. The game generates shoppers that use fundamental business patterns, which nudges players to learn how to balance costs, inventory, and many other factors involved in running a store. Given the lack of modern business simulations, StoreWorld provides an exciting opportunity to reach out to business schools throughout the world, especially given the presence of social networking.
