Human Facial Expression Research

Exhibit Code: GLE-309
Zone: Engineering Park
Location: James E. Gleason Hall (GLE/009) - 3495
Time: All Day

Description:
This exhibit demonstrates state of the art automatic facial expression research using recent advances in feature extraction, dimensionality reduction, and classification techniques. This exhibit uses a temporal detector based upon facial dynamics, a static expression detector based on sparse representations, and an advanced temporal-sparse fused emotion estimator. This approach leverages techniques from both computer vision and human brain research to produce a state-of-the-art emotion estimator on unconstrained faces in natural conditions.
