Description:
A nonlinear “Six Degrees of Freedom” (6-DOF) Aircraft Stick-to-Tail Flight Simulator has multiple uses ranging from desktop, non-real-time engineering applications to real-time piloted simulation activities. The exhibit will demonstrate a cockpit from a real Beechcraft Dutchess aircraft connected to a computer running an aerodynamic flight model. This computer will relay flight information to a second computer used to generate a visual, in-flight image on a 10-foot diameter circular screen. A 6-DOF motion table in the test lab will also move in accordance with the cockpit's "flight."
